Physical Therapy - Vertigo Treatment
We specialize in therapy for vertigo (dizziness) caused by vestibular disorders, the most common of which is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Also known as “top shelf” vertigo, BPPV is an inner ear condition involving migration of tiny “ear rocks” out of the gravity center of the ear and into the ear’s “motion sensor.” Usually occurring when tipping your head back, the ear rocks get thrown into the semicircular canal, triggering the vertigo sensation.
We use monocular video Frenzel lenses (include photo if available) for assessment and treatment of this disorder. Treatment averages 2-3 visits. Reoccurrence rates are estimated at 30%-35%.
