Acoustic Neuroma

Physical Therapy - Acoustic Neuroma

An acoustic neuroma is a small, benign, growing tumor that is wrapped around the vestibular nerve that runs through the inner ear to the brain. Typically, people are unaware they even have this tumor until it has grown large enough that hearing is affected and balance problems begin. Surgery is the only treatment option, and vestibular rehabilitation is ordered if the patient is having trouble adjusting to the balance problems post surgery.
