Urinary incontinence

Balance and Wellness Center - Urinary incontinence

While urinary incontinence is common, it is not normal. Physical therapy for urinary incontinence emphasizes understanding the anatomy of the pelvic floor muscles, specific training of these muscles using sEMG biofeedback, behavior modification to minimize irritants to the bladder, and lifestyle modification to minimize the impact of incontinence. Our physical therapists can also teach patients how to control the urge, modify the diet to reduce bladder irritation, and get the bladder on a schedule that minimizes disruption.

We offer private examination and treatment rooms for our patients with pelvic pain or urinary incontinence. Therapy is done with only one provider and each session is a full hour of one-on-one care. Patient education is a key component to understanding the disorder and learning to cope with it.
