TMJ Treatment

Physical Therapy - TMJ Treatment

Temporomandibular (TMJ) syndrome refers to pain and tenderness of the jaw muscles, along with limited movement. Our therapists educate patients with TMJ about appropriate posture and self-care techniques, along with implementing pain-free treatments. Electrical stimulation, ultrasound, infrared, and massage therapy decrease pain, inflammation, and muscle guarding that cause patient discomfort. Joint mobilization and range of motion exercises improve joint mobility, and strengthening exercises restore strength and functional use of the jaw for chewing and talking.
